how do you get the groom over the spikes and to the bride? Do you find this valuable?

When you get to the bed of spikes, you'll see 3 skulls on chains. Use these to swing across the spikes and use the switch on the other side to make them safe to cross. Then you can drag him across.

NOTE: You can also use the first skull to gain access to the level's 2-player section above.

firstly drag the groom along to the spikes, but not into them of course, then, you need to start swinging across with the 3 skulls, but if you want to do a 2x you grab the first one and then swing into the alcove in the top left, but moving on, you swing across the 3 skulls then pull the switch with eliminates the spikes and therefore the fat groom can get across, later on he gets stuck anyway xD Do you find this valuable?
