Trying to build levels - please help - Noob

Sorry if this is a real obvious question but my son is trying to build levels but cannot access the new things in the popit menu. I've read the manual and it says complete 3 levels in the Garden. He has done this but I have noticed that some don't say 100% complete. Does he need to collect EVERY item or is it down to the fact that he hasn't gone all the way through these levels? He's only 7 so cut him some slack :o) Do you find this valuable?

Go into create mode (found under your moon which is the right most planet). In order to unlock more popit features, he needs to complete all of the tutorials. Click a tool in the popit menu and it will say 'in order to use this, you need to complete the tutorial. Click here to start tutorial.' You'll know when you've entered a tutorial, because you'll start hearing Stephen Fry ramble on.

Completing 3 levels in The Garden just unlocks your profile planet and your levels moon (create mode.) 100% Completiing levels is basically collecting all of the items in each level. You do not HAVE to do this, unless you want to unlock more materials etc.. I suggest telling your son to have a go at all the tutorials (there are about 15 or so) and then once those are complete he will have all popit tools. Have a go at getting used to Create Mode, and then it is time to go and ace all of those levels to unlock more items/materials!

hey no problems. Your son does NOT need to finish the 3 levels to 100%, just get to the end of the levels. Yes he will be missing a few stickers and such until he does finish to 100%, but he can now start building in create mode. You should know though that there are numberous mini-tutorials that can only be played through the create mode. These tutorials provide many new tools and objects your son WILL want and need before he starts building. The first set of create-mode tutorials can be accessed through your popit cursor (in create-mode). Open your popit cursor and select the (?)-question mark icon (looks like and is a question mark). Go through these tutorials until that question mark doesn't appear in your menu anymore. Then the 2nd set of tutorials can be played through by selecting the actual tool from your tools menu. If you haven't used that specific tool yet in the game (ie. piston, winch, level end), when you first select it, you are asked if you'ld like to try the tutorial for it. If you say no, you can always access that tutorial later on by pressing square button while cursor is hovering over the tool, then press L1. You will see an option on that page to RE-PLAY the tutorial. And as I said before, many useful items can be obtained through playing these tutorials. Yes it is somewhat convoluted, but this is how it is set up. Hope I didn't confuse anyone with my less-then-stellar gramar. Do you find this valuable?

No really, it is for my son but I can't help thinking of levels we could build..... Do you find this valuable?

hey... wait a second... there IS NO SON! It is YOU, isn't it? YOU are the LBP fanatic! You probably fooled a lot of others on this site, but you can only fool me for so long... lol. PS, come on... don't be embarassed, I'm 35 years old. My son has to get his OWN copy of LBP as I am always too busy on the copy we already have. Again... lol. PPS, if it is for your 7-year-old, you should learn the game with him as it seems like you are doing. It can be tricky building a level from start to finish along with all the online stuff that can go with it. Do you find this valuable?

Haha, my GRANDAD plays LBP and he is 81! He finds it so funny. Do you find this valuable?

Hi all, there really is a son lol but I am getting into it with him. We've gone thru the tutorials now. This is soooo addictive I love it. To think i nearly didn't bother buying this.... Thanks for all your help folks. It is much appreciated. Do you find this valuable?

Remembewr if you have two controllers you can both play through the experience togethrer and get some items you cant get when you play thru on your own Do you find this valuable?
