Gamers with disabilities...
Nov 3 2008, 2:28 AM EST | Post edited: Nov 3 2008, 2:28 AM EST
So here's the deal: I have a mild case of Cerebral Palsy that up until recently is the reason I've been avoiding online gaming. For anybody who doesn't know anything about CP: I got lucky. With most cases of CP, cognitive abilities are severely impaired, mostly related to speech and dexterity.

I can't walk without the aid of short-arm crutches, and my dexterity isn't as good as I'd like, but I have video games (and guitar) to thank for as good as they are. The Wii might not be the most technologically advanced system, but "Super Mario Galaxy has done wonders for me!

All that being said, I'm looking for folks to play online with who realize and accept that I'm not "that good." Who can deal with the fact that I want a good game of LBP, who realize I may slow things down, and who realize that I'm doing this to not only better my gaming, but work on my overall dexterity.

I've met a bunch of gamers who get frustrated and flame me with pissed off comments, and it's why I've yet to play LBP online even though I'm itching to try it out.

If you're a newbie to online gaming, or an understanding gamer in general, hit me up on PSN: Jeffrosuperfly-- but let me know if you're adding me because you've read this thread. It'll put my mind at ease, and I'll be much more likely to take the PS3 online for a spin!

PS: I'm looking to start a new gaming site soon, and all of this is helping my confidence in the new site. THAT said, if you're an aspiring writer looking to review some games, let me know! I can't pay anybody right now, but when the time is right, I suppose I can "Obama" myself and spread some of the wealth around!

Unlike games like for example SoulCalibur4 which is full of trash talking arrogant people, I'm yet to find people like this on LBP (maybe im just lucky so far ...)
So anyway, same here, I'd totally play too. The online in this game is great. Besides I could use some help with those "x4 sackpeople" items : P

I usually slap competitive people.

Into electric traps.

I'll play with you, but I will run ahead. Obnoxiously. o:< And you BETTER USE YOUR KEYBOARD TO COMMUNICATE. I don't have a mic and subsequently can't hear anyone with.

I dont have a mic, but I can still hear mumblings from time to time XD
nothing undestandably clear though...

I agree with the "competitive people" opinion presented.
Its kind of pointless in a game about coop and sharing.
( And about slapping i tend to do that for fun once the level is over and the camera zooms in.. but never into traps XD )

I'll add you when I get home. I just posted a thread about how my goal is to help other people have fun playing the game online and getting those oh so tempting X4 sackpeople prizes so I'll definitely add you when I get home.
