Anyone know if they;re letting us put our own mp3's in these levels?
Just curious. It wouldn't make sens e for this to be a game about being creative and not give users the ability to choos in-game music beyond the existing track-listing..... but, Sony is notorious for loving DRM and I can't see them just greenlighting us including, say the Starwars music or backstreet boys to our levels.
Anyone heard how Media Molecule is providing custom background music, if at all?

Official Costume Thread
Maybe, the problem that Media Molecule will encounter is copyright, I imagine that there were only a specific amount of free codes that were aloud to be distributed by any participating company selling the game. The problem is that everyone wants their cut of the profits.

We can create our own stickers right?
"So we CAN make stickers? I just want to make sure I can make a detailed sticker...I know it will be time consuming...I guess that will be part of the reward for playing the level!" No, you cannot create "detailed" stickers unfortunately (they should have included a small paint program with the game). Yes you can take a pic with the PSEYE, but you cannot effectively crop that picture in any useful way as far as I know and IMO. There are some simple "frame" objects you can apply to your photographs, but that's as far as it goes. MM (Media Molecule) suggests people splice MM-made stickers together to make their own stickers. There are a couple of problems with this: 1. the sticker selection provided, though many, is still not near enough what we need (they should have at least provided long solid-coloured lines, and many other things). 2. any sticker you've made by splicing other stickers together then needs to have an in-game picture taken of it in order to actually be able to do anything with it (requires setting up a camera and standing in front of said camera). 3. once you've taken a picture of the "sticker", the picture is your sticker, not the actual sticker you created, if you follow. Now... I've been wrong before, but I have been playing LBP extensively for some time now and from what I've witnessed, that is about as good as sticker creation gets in the game. Convoluted, and does not produce the desired results. If anyone knows different, we all want to know.

(official) What would you change about LittleBigPlanet?
"I agree with the pictures but a PC based creator tool that lets you upload to PSN objects and materials etc.. would be very cool but then I would need to choose between PC and PS3 :(" That would be awesome. I'm sure they could make a program that would let you draw stamps that you could either save them to your HDD or upload them to PSN. Media Molecule has really opened up a lot of possibilities.

What is the new surprise that Alex Evans is talking about?
But then the game rating would be raised to E10+ and I couldn't play it. Ha, just kidding. I think water would be awesome, and for some of my ideas, essential. Cut-scenes too. I really have no idea what else Media Molecule can throw at us. Ninja sharks?

Littlebig light shed on possibility of external JPEG support.
We were a little confused about the limitations of adding photos as stickers into the game, so we shot an email to the friendly people over at Media Molecule to see if they could answer our questions. Hope this helps any others who were left in the dark.
Here's what Senior Community Development Manager Sam Bennett had to say:
Hi Alex
As has been stated publicly, for launch of LittleBigPlanet the only means of adding additional images into the game will be via the Playstation Eye, EyeToy or other compatible USB camera. If you or your team have been creating images in advance of the game release, all is not lost - we've conducted tests using various cameras capturing from printouts or directly from the screen the images we've wanted to use and the results have been pretty good. Admittedly this is not the ideal way to import user-created images, however for now it is the only way to do so.
We're aware of the demand for direct from hard drive importing and it will be looked into after the game has released, however this is by no means certain to happen.
I realise this is not the answer you would have liked, but that's the way it is.

Little Big Planet 2
Hi All,
I looked up Little Big Planet for the PSP and it's release date(hopefully) is December 12th. It is on Gamestop under coming soon on page 50 for those of you who want to see, but there is not cover art for it yet. I have a idea, let's us as a group make a cover art for the box and see if Media Molecule whould like to pick one for the box.

Oh teh noes! (If you are easily offended do not read)
I'd like to add a little somethings here.
I understand exactly what Gigith is saying. I was fuming last night.
What I would like to add, is the fact that this "offensive Muslim song" has been around for over two years and has been played on the radio countless times. It is only now that one person finds it offensive.
"Adding to the bit about dogs being filthy.." Apparenlty, new rules in England state that when a police sniffer dog goes into a muslim house, they need to have "plastic shoes" because it offends them. Now correct me if I'm wrong, if a sniffer dog is going into a muslims house, it isn't because the muslim has been well behaved. So why should we have to care?
It isn't my place to say whats right and wrong. So, we have to be understanding toward the fact that they have rules. So we'll have to trust Sony's judgement. Surely they felt that it was going to cause a riot, or something stupid.
The final and most important notice I'd like to add is about Media Molecule.
I am truely hurt for them. They must have lost a lot of money, if not millions, distributing CD's and creating CD's. While we're all angry, imagine how the top dawg feels at MM. It isn't his fault, and yet he probably feels to blame. Now that's something that should take your anger away. Put yourself in his shoes. (Yeah sure, he'll be a billionaire when the game finally releases though ;) hehe!)

Official Proposal Thread
If this isn't already implemented, I think the Sackboy voice sync (which probably has an official name that I totally missed) should have sackboy position worked into it. Meaning, you could hear other people louder or quieter depending on if you are closer or farther away from their sackboy. That way, if you wanted to say something to just one person and not have the others be able to hear, just stand next to that person's sackboy and whisper something or say it quietly. Or if you were far apart you might have to talk a little louder to communicate that way. I think this would be really cool.
Also, about sticker importing: I was watching the Sony Press Conference video from E3 where they gave the presentation about sales and whatnot, and I obviously noticed that there were pictures of the case-art for their Platinum Hits titles. Well, I thought to myself, "I seriously doubt that Media Molecule is going to include objects or stickers of the cases for Assassins Creed or Ninja Gaiden in the completed game." I see many reasons why uploading from Hard Drive wouldn't work well: large level file size increase, copyright violation, inappropriate material, making it easier to be not as creative, etc. And I think you made the better decision, but I was looking forward to using Little Big Planet in at least a few School Presentations, and the use of images is usually needed somewhere in those. I mean, even you guys used it for the presentation at E3. So I respect your decision on image importing, I ask that you consider allowing the user to import images on levels that he or she doesn't upload. It could be a check box in the Level Options, "I am not going to upload this level", with a sub saying, "This will allow the use of pictures from your hard disk." or something like that. Well, thanks for reading this, and I ask that you think about it and talk about it.
