| Kaiserlome | Logical OR switch (written tutorial) | This is for making multiple switches do the same thing. 1) You make a square with darkmatter then cut out the middle. 2) Make a wooden cube inside the darkmatter for each switch and attach pistons to them. 3) Put magnetic keys on each cube. 4) Make it so when each piston is out fully a magnetic key switch is on and when there in the switch is off. 5) On all your switches set them to directional and attach them to the pistons. 6) Set the magnetic key switch to what they all do. 7)easy as that |

| Jibblejab | How to export photos to laptop | Take a photo of sackboy or object/costume/child you made -> open your popit menu -> stickers and decorations -> find the photo -> press [] (square) -> click Export to HDD -> quit LBP -> on the main XMB go into photos -> You should see your piccy here -> insert a memory stick/removable storage -> Copy photo to said removeable storage -> Transfer to laptop -> Tea break -> Congratulations you have copied it to your laptop!!! -> Tea break |
| Tankmaker | How to make an object | 1. you just make the object that you want to put in the bubble 2. then go into your material bag and at the top there will be a camera thing. click on that and adjust it to the size of your object 3. then your object will be saved in the 2nd to last page in your material bag 4. now for the bubble. you go into the tools bag and go to the page with the bubble on it select it and place it where you want it then tweak it and go to the empty circle and then select your object on the second page and there you go |
| Mindphaser | How to Make a prize appear after defeating a monster. | simply create a cavity or "inside space" on your creature and place points in that cavity. Do not glue them to the creature's insides though, just loosely place them in there and make sure they can't fall out. Then save your creature as an object and when the creature is taken out, the score bubbles spill to the ground rather than dissappear with the creature. |
| Jibblejab | How to get a secret glow in the dark skeleton costume. | Reset your costume -> Touch summit electrified -> Quickly pause the game -> If sackboy is glowing in an x-ray ignore the next step -> If he looked normal quickly unpause then pause again til you get it working -> Turn off your controller -> Wait till you are prompted to turn it back on (about 15seconds later) -> You should have a glow in the dark skeleton costum -> Save costume -> Tea break |
| robotiod | Resize checkpoints and other tools trick | This will allow you to make any object (including tools and one-size objects such as checkpoints) literally as big or small as you want, even to the point of invisibility or filling the entire map. 1.) To do this, first save the object you wish to be resized into your personal creations. For example, if you want to resize a checkpoint or a scoreboard, place one in your level, and save it with the "Capture Object" tool. 2.) Now, create an emitter and set the object lifetime to infinite so the object will be permanent after it is captured. 3.) Select the object you wish to be resized as your emitted object and you will be required to place it somewhere. During this time, you can resize the object a certain set amount, regardless of the object's normal size limitations. Choose a size and place it. 4.) Once the object is emitted, capture it again to your objects. For more drastic size changes, repeat step 3 with you newly saved object. This works for entire creations as well as singular objects. In theory, you could fit an entire level into a small grid square, although that would probably fill your thermometer ten times over. Keep in mind that items like pistons and springs, instead of changing in size, only change in length. Bolts don't resize either, but this is only a problem of aesthetics |
| Mortasa | Permanent switch | Make the switch you want to use for your level. Set it to direction. Make a rectangle of dark matter and cut out the middle. Put one block of... lets say iron, on one side of the dark matter and attatch a piston on the other side of the dark matter onto the iron. Make the piston stiff and make the switch activate the piston. Put a loose block in front of the peice of iron and put a mag key on it. Add a mag key switch on the opposite side of the dark matter. Then you have a switch that activates a piston which pushes a loose block to a mag key to permanently activate what you want. I hope I could make this a vid sometime! |
| Larawen | 'Random' Switch | This tutorial will attempt to explain how to create a button that when pressed does one of 4 things. Intro: As with anything to do with a computer, nothing in LBP can be truly random, the only random factor is human, and so we will use this to our advantage. 1. To start make a large flat piece of antimatter on the back plane, this will serve as backboard to hold up all the items needed. Now make a 1 thick open ended bucket around the back board using glass. Using the same material, make 3 lines coming from the bottom of the bucket, this will serve to make 4 small buckets that can catch a falling ball. Make sure the buckets are evenly spaced for the best probability; I like to use the grid for preciseness. 2. Now place 3 triangles, one in the top center to sort left or right, two lower than the first one, on both sides. Attach a wobble bolt to all three triangles, change the settings so that all three move 360 degrees, make sure there is no pause, and make the three timers separate rotation times. For instance changed my top triangle to do a complete spin in 5 seconds, my bottom left to do a spin in 6 seconds, and my bottom right to do a spin in 4 seconds. 3. Now create a hollow circle made out of dissolve material, and attach a piece of antimatter to the top, place this directly above the top triangle. Place a glass circle small enough to fit into the buckets inside of the hollow circle. 4. Place four buttons in the bottoms of the 4 buckets, and attach them to 4 separate lights. Place a button somewhere you can stand and see the lights, and attach the button to the dissolve material. Now un-pause the game and wait a few seconds. Step on the button to try it out. If setup correctly depending on when you step on the button a different light will light up. This takes into effect the human element of when something happens to create different outcomes. I hope this helps! If anyone has any questions, or just wants a copy of the one I made, my PSN ID is Vincentv137. |
| Mortasa | How to make something activate when a brain is popped | Well the thing that will be destroyed when you pop the brain must have a magnetic key on it. Then have a magnetic key switch on inverted on something in the radius of the magnetic key. There you have it, the magnetic key switch activates when the magnetic key is gone. |
| Napoleon Mumbo | Rocket Jet 'path' | Make what ever object you want that'll fly through the air and add rockets to it, then behind your object make four wheels, one in each corner. Put a rail (if you want it to be invisible use darkmatter and make it as small as possible) and then move your wheels as close to the 'rail' as possible. Attach your wheels to your objects with very loose nuts and your jets will follow that path. This can go wrong if you don't place your nuts in the centre of the wheel or if your paths curves too much, to stay on the safe side make a relatively straight path. |
| Gryfalcon_M | Logic Gate: Exclusive OR | The set up is the same as most custom switches made in LBP. Dark matter, glass, pistons, mag. switch, and mag keys. Exclusive OR Gate 1+0=1, 0+1=1 ,1+1=0 As you can see the 1's stand for ON, the 0's for OFF. This type of switch only works if 1 and only 1 input is on at a time. For an example of an Exclusive OR gate, play my level "How to Make A Better Lvl: Including LBP LVL Upgrades." I've got over 25 of the best switches to use in LBP! |
| robotiod | permanent semi permanent thermo saving switch | Make a hollow triangle out of dark matter. place two smaller triangles made out of dissolve inside on these triangles place mag key and mag switch. set the switch to inverted |
| charactercreator | self controled vehicle | first make a box on the front layer then put a jet pack in it make the box out of disolving material. then when you get the jetpack the box will come to. |
