http://www.vgmaps.com/ is a good source for level ideas, all the oldschool platformer maps are there. Here is an easy one to make if you are out of ideas, the first airship from SMB3 should be easy enough to make, and i dont think anybody has made one of them yet ;)

ok i want to do this level where everything is kinda in a theater backstage with a stage and lights and cool platforms and whatnot but im completely blank! besides creating the main 'Creator' of the level (cause i want to make two extension levels later) i dont know what to do or where to start! can anyone help me! just a few ideas to get me rolling!!! Really would be appreciated!!

This is a really good tip. There are many maps on the site which you could create. If someone tried it out, please post the leve-name here and give the author.name.
